In a time of rampant disinformation, how can we care for our health? What does the future of care look like, and pressingly, what kind of future are we currently building?
On Wednesday, October 20, 2026, the Digital Democracies Institute, in collaboration with the Institut français du Canada and the Consulate General of France in Vancouver, brought together transdisciplinary scholars for La Nuit des idées (The Night of Ideas) to tackle these questions, among many others.
BRC Knowledge Mobilization Lead and Senior Scientist Rackeb Tesfaye and BRC researcher Saemi Nadine Jung participated in a panel alongside moderator Frederik Lesage and speakers Cynthia Fleury-Perkins and Susan Erikson to discuss public health, care, and its increasing mediation by platforms, algorithms and information systems.
