Research Focus

Health equity, political ecologies of health, wellbeing, dialogic methodology

Rodrigo Curty Pereira (he/they) is a geographer and global health researcher interested in health equity across scales and the implementation of dialogic methods for knowledge translation. He works as a Postdoctoral Research & Teaching Fellow at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan campus, in the traditional and unceded territory of the syilx people.

Under the scope of BRC, he’s researching how to re-build trust in public health and science for future pandemic readiness. Additionally, he studies the operationalization of equity principles in the global health ecosystem. Past research covers inequities in access to water, sanitation, and hygiene in high- and middle-income countries and the effects of foreign direct investments on the health and wellbeing of people in Latin America.
