Alberto Lusoli (PhD) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Creative Industries at Toronto Metropolitan University. His research sits at the intersection of media industries and critical data studies, interrogating how the diffusion of digital creative tools affects organizations, reshapes professional cultures, and potentially perpetuates longstanding forms of workplace discrimination.

Previously, Alberto served as the Deputy Director of the Digital Democracies Institute at Simon Fraser University, where he also held an SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship. During this time, he co-led the From Hate to Agonism project, a research initiative exploring how AI can be better deployed to foster democracy by balancing freedom of expression and human rights with the need for protection against online abuse.
